JULY, 2010 NEWSLETTER –

BETHSHEAN MEXICO MISSION

THREE WEEKS OF CAMP…..

The Intermediate camp week had 90 campers, an outstanding week of teaching and activities.  Lalo and Gisela did such a wonderful work.

The teen week was also outstanding as Juan Cordova, director for the week, worked with teachers and leaders.  There were 14 teen conversions and 15 re-dedications.  There were a little over 60 teens which was less than we had anticipated but it was a wonderful experience.

The family camp week was also good.  Bob Klemm and Sandy were with us from Columbia County Christian Church, Martinez, GA.  Bob gave two classes.  And Sandy brought crafts for everyone.  Bob’s classes were so very much needed:  Homosexuality and Persistence.  We are beginning to be introduced to the “new lifestyle” of so many young people and we felt we needed to confront it, educate the people, etc.  I can’t put into words the reaction of each one.  Since not much has been taught on the subject of Homosexuality, people really didn’t know how to work with homosexuals.  It was a true eye opener.  We all learned we must love the person and detest the lifestyle.

Just a note, for the week of teens we had six homosexuals.  We must work toward helping them to see their error Biblically and bring them to Christ.

CORRECTON…..

In my last newsletter, I talked about Sister Cuca, elderly grandmother, who had been pronounced dead after several heart attacks.  An all night wake with preaching, singing, many crying, etc., and then she weakly came to.  Obviously, the medical person was incorrect in pronouncing her deceased.  We don’t believe she was raised from the dead by any means.  Since most deceased folks are not embalmed in this area, mistakes are made which was so in this case.  Just wanted to clarify what had happened.

By the way, she is getting better and better.  She is a devoted Christian with the Maravillas Christian Church.

MISSION TEAMS…..

The mission teams that we’ve received so far this year, have been such a support in helping to reach out to the lost and to educate the Christians.  I know many have doubts as to the security situation in Mexico.  And we have had some scary moments in the past but am happy to say that as of late, things have calmed down considerably.  I feel just as safe here as I would in the States.  So I am very, very thankful and appreciative to those who have come.  It gives us more work but we are happy to do the follow up.  So, thank you over and over to each one.

CLINIC CONSTRUCTION PROGRESSING…..

Two Mission teams have done a lot of work on the inside of the clinic  construction.  It is getting exciting seeing it  all come  together.   The framing    for     the    rooms    are finished on the first floor and started on the second  floor.

The windows and protection are being custom made but I wanted to share a picture as to what it will look like. Six of them should be ready by the end of this month.  There will be over 25 so we have a long ways to go.  Each window is costing approximately $120.00 (dollars).

GEORGIA VISIT…..

Lord willing, I plan to be in the Atlanta area sometime in late September.  I would like to drive it but realize I need to fly for health reasons.  I am doing great and am thankful to the Lord for His blessings.

I will do some promotional work for the Mission during that visit but will be limited.  The Doctor has suggested I not travel a lot, to rest, to slow down for awhile.  That’s like telling a duck to stay out of the water!  But anyway….

I look forward to seeing everyone.  Thank you each one for your prayers, financial support and your love and concerns.  Please keep the Bethshean Mission in your prayers.

God bless,

Cris.
