SUMMER ACTIVITIES
In May, we had the Seminar on the Book of Job which was wonderful. Steve Hooks gave the class and as always, they do a great, great job.
June with different Mission teams: Elberton Christian Church,Villa Rica Christian Church, and Mt. Carmel Christian Church, each doing their specialties both physically and spiritually. The camp house is taking on a new face, the Home needed a new generator which it now does. We had the opportunity to go into the schools and set up a health clinic with one of the teams, another team gave a finance class to the churches, VBS, and preaching in the churches. Each team leave such a special mark.
July is our month of camps. As of this writing, we are starting the week with the Intermediates. The theme for each camp has to do with Christian values.
Something different this year was a retreat for the 20 plus singles. We have quite a few older young people and we never have special classes and activities for them. It was a huge success. They have asked for another such weekend retreat before the year is over. We are planning to have our second one this November.
We had teen week the third week of July. Rosy Guzman directed the week of camp and came up with some great ideas, new and fresh.
Then the last week is our family camp. I believe this is probably the best summer of camps we've had so far. Each year it is better and more and more campers come. A lot of non-Christian campers hearing the Gospel, playing with other Christians, learning about Christianity.
HEAR IT FROM THE MINISTERS
Juan Carlos who continues on staff with the Bethshean Mission and ministers in two areas: Maravillas and Pastoria, says:
Fanatism in the different villages is a factor that determines whether we can present the Gospel or not. Although, in these last several years, many doors have been opening to us and the reason is because of the American groups working with us such as; medical teams, gifts for the children at Christmas, American youth going into the schools presenting dramas, youth rallies, etc. has given us the opportunity to evangelize. One of the most difficult villages to evangelize has now opened up for Bible studies. We are having Bible studies on a regular basis with nine adults and 15 children.
Other ministers are telling me what a blessing to have these mission teams come and work along side with them. I thank each one for their efforts and willingness to come and share in so many different ways. The people are amazed to see you all give so much of yourself.
MANY THANKS
I plan to be in the States for the months of August, September, October and part of November. I will be presenting the work to the churches. But also I will be going to for my check up. I look forward to seeing you.
I can't express enough how much you all mean to me personally. I feel like we have struggled together and passed good times and bad times. I have felt the prayers strongly. The Mission continues to grow. So, so much is going on that I haven't even mentioned such as the planning of the Bible College and clinic/hospital project.
Your financial support continues to keep everything progressing. God is being honored before the eyes of the people. We continue to do the best we can for the Lord. Thank you all for your support in so many ways. God bless each one.
In Christian love,
Cris
